The ANZAC Ship Alliance Management Office (ASAMO) is developing a whole-of-ship Technical Management Model (TMM), one component of which
is real estate planning, ie the management of space within compartments and weather decks.
With the concurrent and competing demands on limited compartment and weather deck space, careful planning and space management is necessary to
avoid conflict and to successfully plan and implement change.
ASAMO engaged the services of AMT to develop the Real Estate Planning System (REPS) Concept Demonstrator which was further refined
with the preparation of 3D CAD models, to provide a working REPS tool.
The REPS tool has provided ASAMO with the following capabilities:
| Simplified CAD User Interface - this enables the ASAMO REPS administrator to manipulate REPS 3D CAD models using a more concise set of commands,
thus relieving the requirement for specialised CAD skills
|
| Current 3D CAD models - enables up to date 3D CAD models to be viewed as required, based on the current revisions of the baseline ship
design drawings
|
| Interrelation Database - this enables the various RAN Conceptual Projects and Ship Class-speciifc Configuration Change Proposals (CCPs) to be linked
to the 3D geometric updates to the ASAMO ship model
