Bousted Naval Shipyard (BNS), located in Lumut, Malaysia was seeking production engineering support for the construction of Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN)
PV3, specifically in the material take-off (MTO) of small-bore piping systems.
AMT was able to utilize its extensive experience in the design and production engineering of Blohm+Voss-designed ships in providing the
requested support to BNS.
The tasking involved co-ordinating and configuring the required BNS engineering data; establishing and training a "core" BNS technical group who
would subsequently take responsibility for ongoing production engineering and work preparation for the MTO task; and providing engineering
documentation training for the shipyard Technical Services Division for the co-ordination of drawings related to pipework, ventilation ductwork and
electrical cableway routing within the ships.
