Habitability Study ANZAC Ships | |
|
Operational deployments of ANZAC vessels to the Persian Gulf and other areas highlighted the need to accommodate additional specialist
personnel during these high-tempo operations. As a result a study was commissioned to examine the options available on the RAN ANZACs
to increase the number of berths to accommodate specialists in these deployments and which could be used as training berths in normal
situations.
AMT's study examined all non-operational compartments with respect to potential increase in berths or alternatively improvement in
general habitability/recreational arrangements with a view to identifying options, which could be reviewed and further developed for
implementation.
The study was performed within the constraints of existing space and attempting to minimize detrimental impact on habitability standard
overall, whilst providing costed high level design solutions and associated Design Impact Statements, to enable the Commonwealth to select
the best options for their requirements.
