In December 2006 AMT commenced a supporting role to TKMS GmbH Germany and TKMS Canada Inc. in their Preliminary Design Study (PDS) Phase as part of its bid for the supply of three Joint Support Ships (JSS) for the Canadian Navy.

The bid team was predominantly based in Canada, with AMT’s involvement covering Technical Management and specialist technical input for human engineering, hazard analysis and technical peer review of the overall proposal. AMT had staff on secondment to the Project Management Office in Ottawa (Canada) as well as in Emden and Hamburg (Germany) at various times over the 14 month duration of the PDS.

The PDS submission from TKMS is currently under evaluation by the Canadian Project Management Office Joint Support Ship Project.
